திருக்குறள்:

மலர்மிசை ஏகினான் மாணடி சேர்ந்தார்

நிலமிசை நீடுவாழ் வார்.

பொருள்:

அன்பர்களின் மனமாகிய மலரில் வீற்றிருக்கும் இறைவனின் மாட்சிமைமிக்க திருவடிகளை நினைத்து வாழ்பவர், நிலவுலகில் இன்புற்று நீண்ட காலம் வாழ்வர்.

விரிவாக்கம்:

மனிதர்கள் தங்கள் வாழ்வில் அன்பு நிறைந்த மனத்தாமரையில் வீற்றிருக்கும் இறைவனின் திருவடிகளைச் சரணடைந்து, அவனது நன்னெறிகளைப் பின்பற்றி வாழ வேண்டும். அவ்வாறு இறை சிந்தனையோடும் தூய்மையான குணங்களோடும் வாழ்பவர்கள், இந்த உலகில் புகழுடனும் அமைதியுடனும் நீண்ட காலம் வாழ்வார்கள் என்பதை இக்குறள் எடுத்துரைக்கின்றது.
