1/1: திருக்குறள்: அகர முதல எழுத்தெல்லாம் ஆதி பகவன் முதற்றே உலகு. பொருள்: எழுத்துக்கள் எல்லாம் 'அ' என்னும் அகரத்தை முதலாகக் கொண்டுள்ளன; அதுபோல, இந்த உலகம் ஆதிபகவனாகிய இறைவனை முதலாகக் கொண்டு இயங்குகிறது. விரிவாக்கம்: உலகில் உள்ள மொழிகளின் அனைத்து எழுத்துக்களுக்கும் தொடக்கமாக 'அ' என்னும் அகர ஒலி எவ்வாறு அமைந்திருக்கிறதோ, அதுபோலவே பேரண்டத்தில் வாழும் அனைத்து உயிர்களுக்கும் வாழ்வியலுக்கும் ஆதிபகவனே முதன்மைக் காரணியாக விளங்குகிறான். இறைவனே அனைத்து இயக்கங்களுக்கும் தொடக்கமும் ஆதாரமும் ஆவான் என்பதை இக்குறள் எடுத்துரைக்கின்றது.
