127/1263:திருக்குறள்:

உரன்நசைஇ உள்ளம் துணையாகச் சென்றார்

வரல்நசைஇ இன்னும் உளேன்.

பொருள்:

தன் முயற்சியின் வெற்றியையே விரும்பி, ஊக்கத்தையே மனத்துணையாகக் கொண்டு பிரிந்து சென்ற தலைவர் மீண்டும் திரும்பி வருவார் என்ற ஒரே ஆசையினாலும் நம்பிக்கையினாலும் மட்டுமே நான் இன்னும் உயிர் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.

விரிவாக்கம்:

தலைவன் தன் கடமையையும் தொழிலையும் சிறப்பாகச் செய்து முடிக்க வேண்டும் என்னும் முனைப்போடு, தன் சொந்த மன ஊக்கத்தையே துணையாகக் கொண்டு தலைவியைப் பிரிந்து சென்றுள்ளான். அவனது பிரிவைத் தாங்க முடியாமல் தலைவி தவிக்கும் போதிலும், அவன் வெற்றிகரமாகத் தன் வேலையை முடித்துத் தன்னிடம் திரும்பி வருவான் என்ற பேராவலும் நம்பிக்கையுமே அவளது உயிரைத் தாங்கிப் பிடிக்கும் ஒரே தூணாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது. "அவனது வருகையை விரும்பும் அந்த ஒரு நம்பிக்கையே என் உடலிலிருந்து உயிர் பிரியாமல் என்னை வாழ வைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது" என்று தலைவி தன் பிரிவாற்றாமையின் தீவிரத்தை நயம்பட எடுத்துரைப்பதாக இக்குறள் அமைகின்றது.
