127/1264: அவர்வயின் விதும்பல்
கூடிய காமம் பிரிந்தார் வரவுள்ளிக்
கோடுகொண் டேறும்என் நெஞ்சு.
பொருள்:
முன்பு கூடி மகிழ்ந்த தலைவன் மீண்டும் திரும்பி வரப்போவதை நினைக்கும்போதே, என் நெஞ்சில் பொங்கும் காம இன்பமானது வரம்பு கடந்து கரைகாணாதபடி உயர்ந்து பெருக்கெடுக்கின்றது.

பிரிந்து சென்ற தலைவனின் வருகையைச் சிந்திக்கத் தொடங்கும்போதே தலைவியின் உள்ளத்தில் பேரானந்தம் ஊற்றெடுக்கிறது. பண்டைக்காலத்தில் இருவரும் கூடி அனுபவித்த அந்த அரிய காதலின் இன்ப நினைவுகள் மீண்டும் விழித்துக் கொள்கின்றன. "அவன் வரப்போகிறான் என்னும் எண்ணமே என் நெஞ்சில் காதலின் பெருக்கை மேலும் மேலும் உயர்த்தி, கரைகளை உடைத்துக்கொண்டு வெள்ளமெனப் பெருக்கெடுத்து ஓடச் செய்கிறது" என்று தன் வரம்பற்ற ஆசையையும் எதிர்பார்ப்பையும் தலைவி நயம்பட எடுத்துரைப்பதாக இக்குறள் அமைகின்றது.
