132/1315:திருக்குறள்:

காதலம் என்றேனா ஊடினாள் யாரினும்

யாரினும் என்று.

பொருள்:

"எல்லாரையும் விட உன்னை அதிகமாய் விரும்புகிறேன்" என்று தலைவியிடம் கூறினேன்; உடனே அவள், "மற்ற யாரை விட? அந்த மற்றவர்கள் யார் யார்?" என்று கேட்டுச் செல்லக் கோபம் கொண்டு பிணங்கினாள்.

விரிவாக்கம்:

தலைவன் தன் காதலின் ஆழத்தை உணர்த்துவதற்காக, "மற்ற எல்லாரையும் விட உன்னைத்தான் அதிகம் நேசிக்கிறேன்" என்று ஒப்பிட்டுக் கூறுகிறான். ஆனால் தலைவியோ, "என்னை விடக் குறைவாக நேசிப்பதற்கு உங்கள் மனதில் இருக்கும் அந்த மற்றப் பெண்கள் யார் யார்?" என்று கேட்டு, அவனது ஒப்பிடுதலையே குற்றமாக்கிச் செல்லமாக ஊடல் கொள்கிறாள் என்பதை இக்குறள் நயம்பட எடுத்துரைக்கின்றது.

Explanation:
