132/1316:திருக்குறள்:

உள்ளினேன் என்றேன்மற்று என்மறந்தீர் என்றென்னைப்

புல்லாள் புலத்தக் கனள்.

பொருள்:

"உன்னை நான் நினைத்தேன்" என்று தலைவியிடம் கூறினேன். உடனே அவள், "என்னை மறந்ததனால் தானே நினைத்தீர்? இடைப்பட்ட நேரத்தில் என்னை ஏன் மறந்தீர்?" என்று கேட்டுத் தழுவாமல் செல்லக் கோபம் கொண்டாள்.

விரிவாக்கம்:

தலைவன் தன் அன்பை வெளிப்படுத்துவதற்காக, "உன்னைத்தான் நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தேன்" என்று கூறுகிறான். ஆனால், தலைவியோ காதலின் பேரன்பால், "எப்போதும் என் நினைவாகவே அல்லவா நீங்கள் இருக்க வேண்டும்? என்னை நினைத்தேன் என்று சொல்கிறீர்கள் என்றால், அதற்குமுன் என்னை மறந்திருந்தீர்கள் என்றுதானே பொருள்?" எனக் கேட்டு, அவனைத் தழுவாமல் செல்லமாகப் பிணங்கி ஊடல் கொள்கிறாள் என்பதை இக்குறள் நயம்பட எடுத்துரைக்கின்றது.

Explanation:

In the depth of passionate love, even an expression of affection can be playfully challenged.
