திருக்குறள்:
ஊடுதல் காமத்திற்கு இன்பம் அதற்கின்பம்
கூடி முயங்கப் பெறின்.
பொருள்:
காதலர்களுக்குக் காம இன்பத்தை மிகுதிப்படுத்துவது ஊடலாகும்; அந்த ஊடலுக்கு இன்பமாவது, ஊடல் முடிந்த பிறகு இருவரும் கூடித் தழுவிக்கொள்வதே ஆகும்.
விரிவாக்கம்:
காதல் வாழ்க்கையில் சிறிய அளவிலான ஊடல் (செல்லக் கோபம்) இன்பத்தைக் கூட்டக்கூடிய ஒன்றாகும். அந்த ஊடலுக்குப் பரஸ்பர அன்பால் தீர்வு காணப்பட்டு, அதன் தொடர்ச்சியாகக் காதலர்கள் மீண்டும் ஒன்றுகூடித் தழுவும்போது அது பேரின்பமாக மாறுகின்றது. ஊடல் மனதை நெருக்கமாக்க, கூடுதல் உடலையும் உள்ளத்தையும் பேரின்பத்தில் திளைக்கச் செய்யும் என்பதை இக்குறள் எடுத்துரைக்கின்றது. தினமும் ஒரு குறளும் பொருளும் விரிவாக்கமும். பாலாஜி பாலசுப்பிரமணியம்.
